Washington retains his NABA Light Flyweight title

Terry “El Terrible” Washington successfully retained his NABA Light Flyweight (108 lbs.) title with a hard-fought split decision victory over Mexico’s Axel “Mini” Aragon Vera at Thunder Studios in Long Beach, California.

In a highly competitive championship contest, Washington improved his record to 8-0 (6 KOs) after earning the nod on two of the three judges’ scorecards, 95-94 and 96-93, while the third judge favored Aragon Vera, 95-94.

Both fighters had officially weighed in at the 108-pound limit prior to the bout and delivered an entertaining, action-packed battle that kept the outcome in doubt until the final bell, providing fans with one of the highlights of the evening.

The event was promoted by David Michery and DMG Boxing and Promotions.
