Two new North American Boxing Association (NABA) Silver champions were crowned Friday night at Payne Arena in Hidalgo, Texas, as Giovanni Marquez and Kevin Ayala secured championship victories at BoxFest XX.

In the main event, Giovanni Marquez defeated Venezuela’s Rowin Sanchez by decision to win the vacant NABA Silver Super Lightweight Championship.

Marquez used his boxing skills, speed and movement to control the distance and work effectively behind his jab, while Sanchez applied pressure and looked for opportunities to bring his power into the fight. The competitive 10-round bout saw Marquez maintain his composure and do enough to earn the decision and claim his first NABA championship.

Kevin Ayala defeated Jesus Ariel Moreno Arias to become the new NABA Silver Super Bantamweight Champion.

Ayala showcased his technical ability and offensive versatility throughout the bout, while Moreno, a southpaw, presented a opposition challenge and made the Texan work for every round.

The two victories added another successful chapter to NABA’s presence at Red Owl Boxing’ BoxFest XX, with Marquez and Ayala leaving Hidalgo as NABA Silver champions and taking an important step forward in their professional careers.
