Deonte “Slzzp” Walker captured the vacant NABA Silver Welterweight Championship on June 27 with a dramatic 10th-round technical knockout victory over Ghana’s Fredrick Lawson at the InterContinental Saint Paul Riverfront in St. Paul, Minnesota.

Walker controlled much of the contest with his trademark power and pressure before closing the show in the final round. The stoppage was particularly significant, as Lawson had never previously been stopped during his professional career, making it one of the most impressive victories of Walker’s resume.

The victory improved Walker’s record to 23-1 with 22 knockouts, earned him the NABA Silver welterweight crown, and further established the hard-hitting American as one of the division’s rising contenders.
