Osumah makes successful first defense of NABA Gold title
by Rowerth GoncalvesUndefeated Michael Osumah successfully defended his NABA Gold Super Welterweight Championship on Saturday, April 11, with a fourth-round technical knockout over Argentina’s Sergio Mauricio “El Ruso” Gil at The Chelsea inside The Cosmopolitan in Las Vegas, Nevada.
The Nigerian champion imposed his power from the opening bell, controlling the pace behind sharp combinations and effective pressure. Gil showed his trademark toughness but was unable to slow Osumah’s offense, which intensified as the fight progressed. A sustained attack early in the fourth round prompted the referee to stop the contest at the 1:45 mark.
The victory improved Osumah’s record to 11-0 (10 KOs) and marked the first successful defense of the NABA Gold title he captured earlier this year. The impressive performance further strengthens his standing as one of the division’s promising contenders.
